Beautiful

Costa Rica is known for its lovely and many places for tourists to visit.

Safety

Costa Rica is one of the most politically stable countries of the isthmus that makes up the region of Central America. While most other Central American countries have experienced civil wars and other strife that has led to instability Costa Rica has remained as a solid democracy. As a proof of that fact, there has been no standing Costa Rican army since 1948.

Reasonable airfare

Because of its reputation for tourism, international airfare to Costa Rica is many times less expensive than flights to domestic destinations. Flights have been found for as low as $270 from major cites such as Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore. Typically, flights can be found for $300-$600 from most major cities. This cuts the cost of the entire trip.
